Plain-language summary: CalcPCOS does not sell your data, does not require account creation to use any calculator, and does not store the health information you enter into our tools. All calculator inputs are processed locally in your browser and are not transmitted to our servers. The sections below explain in full what data we do collect and how it is used.

🌐 Who we are

Our website address is: http://calcpcos.com

CalcPCOS is a free educational tool site providing PCOS-specific calculators for calorie targets, macros, insulin resistance, fertility nutrition, body composition, and medication-related weight projections. We do not provide medical advice and are not a healthcare provider.

💬 Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, as well as the visitor's IP address and browser user agent string to help with spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address — also called a hash — may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available at: https://automattic.com/privacy/.

After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

🖼️ Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Note: This applies to any contributor or administrator uploading files to calcpcos.com. Standard visitors using our calculators do not upload any files to our servers.

🍪 Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. CalcPCOS uses cookies in a limited number of circumstances, described below.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. These cookies will last for one year. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

🔗 Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content — for example videos, images, or articles from other websites. Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website directly.

These websites may:

  • Collect data about you
  • Use cookies
  • Embed additional third-party tracking
  • Monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website

We aim to limit use of embedded third-party content where possible. When we do embed external content, we note the source clearly.

🤝 Who we share your data with

We do not sell personal data to third parties. The only data sharing that occurs is limited to the following circumstances:

  • If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
  • Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
  • Standard anonymous analytics data (page views, traffic sources) may be processed by our analytics provider. This data contains no personally identifiable information.
Calculator inputs: Health information you enter into our calculators — weight, height, glucose levels, insulin levels, or any other values — is processed entirely in your browser. This data is never transmitted to our servers and is never shared with any third party.

🗂️ How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users who register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time — except they cannot change their username. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Calculator inputs and results are not retained. They exist only in your browser session and are discarded when you close or refresh the page.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you have the following rights regarding the personal data we hold about you:

📤 Right to export
You can request to receive an exported file of all personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
🗑️ Right to erasure
You can request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include data we are legally required to retain for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
✏️ Right to correction
You can update or correct personal information in your user profile at any time, except for your username.
📧 Right to contact us
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@calcpcos.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

📡 Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. This involves transmitting comment content and metadata (IP address, browser agent) to the spam detection provider for analysis.

If you use Gravatar, your hashed email address may be sent to Gravatar's servers to retrieve your profile image. Gravatar is operated by Automattic — their privacy policy is available at https://automattic.com/privacy/.

No calculator input data is transmitted outside your browser. All health-related calculations on calcpcos.com are performed client-side.
